As a boy, Jesus grew up just about 15 miles from the Sea of Galilee.  He moved His mission operations to Capernaum, on the northern shore of the sea of Galilee, where He called His first disciples.  We will spend our "Summer at the Seaside" learning from Jesus as we seek to learn all Jesus would have us learn from many of  the miracles of Jesus' ministry around the Sea of Galilee.  We will begin our journey as He invites 4 men to "Go Fishing" for MEN.

Studies have shown time and time again, that the vast majority of people who come to faith in Christ, do so because of the influence and testimony of a close friend or family member, not the local preacher.  This may be why Jesus refused to let the man healed of a legion of demons to follow Him.  Rather, He told the man, "Go back to your home and tell how much God has done for you."
Jesus expects the same from each of us.  Never underestimate the power of your testimony in bringing another person to faith in Christ.

Time is one of God's greatest gifts to us.  Time is a fleeting, non-replenishable resource for each of us.  It comes to us at the same rate of time.  We can't buy more of it, we can't borrow it and we can't give it away to another.  Since time is so fleeting we would be wise to "make the most of every opportunity" as it relates to eternity.  So, just how do we go about doing that?

Every born again child of the Kingdom has been gifted uniquely by the Spirit for the purpose of strengthening the Body of Christ and fulfilling his or her God given purpose.  For the Church to fulfill her mission it is necessary for each member to to his part.

God created us to live in community.  Christ established the Church to function as a dynamic, life-transforming  community to fulfill God's purpose in our lives,  the lives of others  and in the world.

"How good and pleasant it is when God's people live together  in unity.  For there God bestows His blessing, even life evermore" (Psalm 133:1,  3).

Control is something that most of us have a hard time letting go of, but Jesus says that to be His disciple we must to die to ourselves.  We have to give up the key of our life to Him.  Whoever is in the driver's seat is in control.  Who is in the driver's seat of your life?

In a day and age where the attention span of humans has shrunk to a level lower than a common goldfish, it is critical that, as children of God, we learn how to focus fully on what truly matters.  What is that and how are we to do it?

Prayer was an inseparable dimension of Jesus' life, ministry, power and effectiveness.  He has invited us into this dynamic and powerful aspect of relationship with Jesus, God the Father, and God the Holy Spirit.  So why don't we pray more?

Inseparable from the cornerstone of worship in acting like Jesus--doing what Jesus did--is the practice of Bible study.  The Bible is not just another book.  It is alive.  It is powerful.  It gives life and transforms life.  The Living Word made Himself the servant of the Word.

Anything worth building must be put on an appropriate foundation.  The same is true with our lives.  Our core beliefs, which we addressed in our recent message series Think Like Jesus, are the foundation stones we are to build on.  But that foundation is worthless unless we, indeed, build upon it.  Our ultimate aim is to BE like Jesus.  Our next step in becoming like Him is to ACT like Him.  This begins with Worship--our active response to God, whereby we declare His supreme worth
